Minnesota Vikings News & Updates

The Minnesota Vikings have made changes to their specialist roles due to injuries within the team.

John Parker Romo will fill the position of place-kicker, stepping in for Will Reichard, who is sidelined by a quadriceps injury. Romo was previously part of the San Antonio Brahmas in the XFL during 2023. Jake McQuaide is set to take over as long snapper from Andrew DePaola, who will be undergoing surgery on his hand.

Both Reichard and DePaola are expected to miss a minimum of four games since they have been designated for injured reserve.

McQuaide brings with him 14 years of experience in the NFL, mainly with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams. He has prior collaboration with Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell, with whom he worked when O'Connell was the offensive coordinator for the Rams in 2020.
