Minnesota Vikings News & Updates

Aaron Jones, the running back for the Minnesota Vikings, is aiming to resume practice on Thursday as he heals from a right hamstring injury that was once mistaken for a hip issue.

Jones was absent from the Vikings' practice in full gear on Wednesday. Coach Kevin O'Connell is still uncertain about Jones' participation in the upcoming Sunday match against the Detroit Lions.

O'Connell shared his hopeful outlook, mentioning that Jones is anticipated to make progress during the week with the possibility of playing on Sunday.

During warmups before the game with the New York Jets, Jones felt tightness in his right hip. Despite a successful 23-yard pass reception, the discomfort continued, prompting the medical team to sideline him.

Should Jones be unable to play, Ty Chandler will take his place as the starter. The Vikings have also recently brought in Cam Akers from the Houston Texans, who is expected to be ready to play against the Lions.
