Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones is considered week-to-week because of a right hip injury. He exited Sunday's game against the New York Jets and did not return. Coach Kevin O'Connell mentioned that early assessments suggest they avoided a serious injury.
There is uncertainty about Jones's availability for the Week 7 matchup against the Detroit Lions. If he's unable to play, Ty Chandler will step in as the starter.
In the game against the Jets, Chandler's performance was limited, as he managed only 30 yards on 14 attempts. He also dropped a pitch, resulting in a turnover. Nonetheless, O'Connell showed confidence in Chandler's abilities.
Chandler took on the starting role in several games for the Vikings in 2023, accumulating 461 yards by the season's end. Jones, who joined the Vikings after being released by the Green Bay Packers, has amassed 517 scrimmage yards this season.
