Vikings' Running Back Aaron Jones to Miss Game Against Jets Due to Hip Injury

Minnesota Vikings News & Updates

Aaron Jones will not be playing in Sunday's match against the New York Jets because of a hip injury.

The injury is thought to have happened during a 24-yard reception in the first quarter. Nick Mullens, the backup quarterback, threw to Jones on a wheel route, and Jones landed heavily after completing the catch. On the subsequent play, Ty Chandler took Jones' place.

Prior to making the catch, Jones had run for 29 yards over seven carries. Even though he signed a one-year deal just this spring, he has already accumulated 350 yards in his debut season with the Vikings.

The Vikings have a bye in Week 6, which might lessen the impact of Jones' time away from the field.
