The Minnesota Vikings will be without their left tackle, Christian Darrisaw, for the rest of the season as he has sustained a knee injury.
Darrisaw was hurt during the latter part of the first half in Thursday's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Medical evaluations determined that he requires surgery, which will put him out of action for the season.
David Quessenberry, a seasoned player, took over for Darrisaw on Thursday and is anticipated to serve as the Vikings' starting left tackle moving forward this season.
Since being chosen as the 23rd overall pick in the 2021 draft, Darrisaw has been the mainstay at left tackle for the Vikings. He recently agreed to a contract extension spanning four years, with a potential value of up to $113 million.
The incident resulting in the injury happened when Jaylen McCollough, a safety from the Rams, collided with Darrisaw's knee on its side while Darrisaw was engaged in blocking. Darrisaw was unable to support himself and needed assistance from the medical team to leave the field.
