During the Monday Night Football game against the Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis suffered a shoulder injury. The injury occurred in the first quarter when Levis dived for a first down and landed awkwardly, prompting him to head straight to the medical tent. Backup quarterback Mason Rudolph stepped in and managed to lead the team to three scoring drives during the first half.
Though Levis was listed as questionable to return, Rudolph stayed in the game as the Titans increased their lead. Rudolph completed 9 of 17 passes for 85 yards, securing Tennessee's first win of the season and their first time scoring at least 30 points in over three years.
Titans coach Brian Callahan explained that the decision to keep Rudolph in the game was made to protect Levis's health. Levis was seen grimacing on the sideline and was unable to fully recover. Callahan reiterated that Levis remains their starting quarterback when he is healthy.
Prior to his injury, Levis had tied with Anthony Richardson for the most interceptions in the NFL at six. Additionally, his nine turnovers, including three fumbles, also lead the league.
Tennessee has a bye week before they host the Indianapolis Colts on October 13th.
