Eli Manning, Luke Kuechly, Terrell Suggs, and Antonio Gates have progressed to the next phase of voting for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The list of eight players eligible for the first time includes Manning, Kuechly, Suggs, Adam Vinatieri, Marshawn Lynch, Earl Thomas, Marshal Yanda, and Joe Staley.
Among the ten players returning as finalists are Jared Allen, Torry Holt, Reggie Wayne, Willie Anderson, Jahri Evans, Darren Woodson, Eric Allen, Rodney Harrison, and Fred Taylor.
Manning played a key role in leading the Giants to victory in the Super Bowl against the Patriots in the years 2007 and 2011.
Kuechly, who played for the Carolina Panthers, was honored five times as an All-Pro and was named Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Playing for the Baltimore Ravens, Suggs earned the title of NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2011 and achieved seven seasons with double-digit sacks.
Vinatieri, holding the NFL record for career points and field goals, delivered the decisive kicks that secured New England's first two Super Bowl championships.
Gates, known for his time with the San Diego Chargers, established an NFL record for tight ends with 116 touchdown receptions.
Allen, a standout for the Minnesota Vikings, was named a four-time All-Pro and recorded 136 career sacks.
