Below is all of the recent Los Angeles Chargers NFL news, highlights and updates we have.
The journey of the Los Angeles Chargers began in 1960, when they debuted as the Los Angeles Chargers in the American Football League (AFL). Under the guidance of legendary coach Sid Gillman, the team quickly established itself as a dominant force, clinching the AFL Championship in 1963. With the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, the Chargers transitioned into the NFL, becoming part of the American Football Conference (AFC) West division.
Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the Chargers experienced moderate success, highlighted by several playoff appearances and a trip to the AFC Championship Game in 1980. It wasn't until the mid-2000s, however, that they emerged as consistent contenders. Under head coach Norv Turner, the team secured three consecutive playoff appearances from 2006 to 2008, including a run to the AFC Divisional Round in 2007.
After a period of decline, the Chargers re-emerged as a formidable team under coach Anthony Lynn in the late 2010s. With the leadership of star quarterback Philip Rivers, the Chargers made back-to-back playoff appearances in 2018 and 2019. In 2020, the team relocated to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood and officially rebranded as the Los Angeles Chargers. Today, the Chargers remain competitors in the AFC West, aspiring to revive their championship-winning legacy.
