Green Bay Packers News & Updates

The Blue Jays faced the Orioles on Friday night, ultimately facing a 5-3 defeat in a game that extended to 10 innings. Baltimore took the lead in the top of the 10th when Ryan McKenna hit a home run. The Jays managed to tie the game at the bottom of the 10th thanks to an RBI single from George Springer, but they couldn't capitalize in the 11th inning, leaving runners on the corners.

In the first inning, the Jays established an early lead of 2-0 following a two-run homer by Danny Jansen. However, the Orioles responded in the third inning, scoring three runs. Their comeback was fueled by two hits including a two-run single from Anthony Santander. Bo Bichette leveled the game in the fifth inning with a solo home run, marking his 22nd of the season.

After a promising start, the Jays struggled offensively, securing only four hits after the first inning and failing to achieve hits in five at-bats with runners in scoring positions during the final five innings. Kevin Gausman, the starting pitcher, delivered 5.2 innings, conceding three runs on five hits, while the bullpen gave up two additional runs over 4.1 innings. Tim Mayza was charged with the loss.

This recent loss adds to a challenging period for the Jays, who've now lost six of their last eight games and hold a 6-13 record over their last 19 games. They are scheduled to play the Orioles again on Saturday for the second game of the series.
