Washington Commanders News & Updates

In a thrilling finish, the Washington Commanders clinched a win against the Chicago Bears with a 52-yard Hail Mary pass from Jayden Daniels to Noah Brown as time ran out, securing an 18-15 victory. This dramatic touchdown marked only the fifth instance of a go-ahead Hail Mary touchdown in the last ten seconds since ESPN started tracking such events.

Despite dealing with a rib injury, Jayden Daniels led the charge for the Commanders, completing 21 of 38 passes for a total of 326 yards and contributing an additional 52 yards on the ground. His performance was instrumental in achieving the Commanders' sixth victory of the season.

The Bears briefly led the game 15-12 with just 23 seconds on the clock, before the Commanders' decisive play sealed their triumph.

Caleb Williams, the top overall draft pick, directed a late scoring drive for the Bears. However, his overall performance fell short of expectations. On a more positive note for Chicago, D'Andre Swift excelled with a rushing touchdown and amassed 129 yards.

The Commanders relied heavily on Austin Seibert's kicking prowess, as his four field goals were their sole source of points prior to the successful Hail Mary attempt. Seibert's contributions have been pivotal for Washington, as he has surpassed Mark Moseley's long-standing franchise records for the most field goals made and points scored by Week 8.
