Arizona Cardinals News & Updates

Jayden Daniels led the Washington Commanders to a triumphant 42-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals. In the game, Daniels ran for a 9-yard touchdown, making him the fourth quarterback to rush for four touchdowns in his first four career games.

This marks the third consecutive game where Washington scored at least 30 points, a streak they haven't achieved since 2017. Daniels threw for 233 yards and a touchdown, while Jeremy McNichols contributed with two rushing touchdowns. Brian Robinson Jr. added to the ground game with 101 rushing yards.

Daniels' return to Arizona was notable, considering he previously played college football at Arizona State and later at LSU, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 2023. Washington's offensive coordinator, Kliff Kingsbury, also returned to familiar territory, having been the head coach of the Cardinals from 2019 to 2022.

A crucial moment in the game was Sean Murphy-Bunting's pass interference penalty, which resulted in a 47-yard gain for Washington and set up Daniels' touchdown run that extended their lead to 24-7. Although Arizona's James Conner scored in the third quarter, Kyler Murray's performance was limited to 16 completions out of 22 attempts for 142 yards.

The Washington offense has been exceptionally efficient, scoring on every drive in the past two games, excluding kneel downs. This feat has not been matched by any team since at least the year 2000. The Cardinals initially took a 7-0 lead, but Washington responded with two touchdowns, including a lengthy 93-yard drive capped by McNichols' 27-yard touchdown run.

Austin Ekeler did not play for the Commanders due to a concussion, while Trey McBride and Khyiris Tonga were among the inactive players for the Cardinals.

Looking ahead, the Commanders are set
