Detroit Lions News & Updates

During Sunday’s matchup against the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch was removed from the game due to a helmet-to-helmet collision with receiver Bo Melton.

This late hit occurred with 6 minutes and 18 seconds remaining in the second quarter, while the Lions were ahead 7-3 at Lambeau Field. Following his disqualification, Branch gestured offensively towards the crowd, which led to an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Prior to his removal from the game, Branch had already achieved two tackles against Green Bay. He plays a crucial role in Detroit's defense, having intercepted four passes, a number that placed him third in the NFL before this game began.
