Los Angeles Chargers News & Updates

J.K. Dobbins, who often excelled against Jim Harbaugh's college teams, helped Harbaugh achieve a winning return to the NFL.

Dobbins ran for 135 yards on 10 carries, including a 12-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, as the Chargers overcame a slow start to beat the Raiders 22-10.

Dobbins' effort mirrored Harbaugh's typical strategy: a balanced attack (27 runs, 27 passes) and a robust defense that generated three turnovers and crucial short-yardage stops.

In the first half, the Chargers' defense played a pivotal role, with Poona Ford stopping Zamir White on fourth-and-1 and Khalil Mack recovering a Gardner Minshew fumble and returning it 22 yards to the Las Vegas 12-yard line.

Safety Derwin James highlighted the team's "complementary football," acknowledging the mutual support between the offense and defense.

Alexander Mattison provided the Raiders with an early lead through a 31-yard touchdown catch, marking the longest play of his career.

A confrontation between Joshua Palmer and Josh Jones led to their ejection, and both players are facing a $39,501 fine.

The Raiders' Tyree Wilson sustained a knee injury in the first quarter.

Next week, the Raiders travel to Baltimore, while the Chargers head to Carolina.
