The Dallas Cowboys emerged victorious over the New York Giants, winning 23-16 in an exciting game at MetLife Stadium. After a scoreless first quarter, the Cowboys took the lead with Brett Maher kicking a 40-yard field goal at 10:42 in the second quarter.
The Giants quickly answered back with Graham Gano kicking a 32-yard field goal later in the same quarter. Despite this, the Cowboys held a 6-3 advantage at halftime, courtesy of another field goal by Maher.
During the third quarter, the Cowboys increased their lead when Dak Prescott connected with CeeDee Lamb for a 36-yard touchdown pass. The Giants narrowed the margin with another field goal from Gano, making it 13-6.
In the fourth quarter, the Giants made a strong effort with a 2-yard touchdown run by Saquon Barkley. However, the Cowboys reclaimed the lead following a 34-yard field goal by Maher. Despite a missed game-tying field goal attempt by the Giants with under two minutes left, the Cowboys held on for the win.
Prescott completed 22 of his 35 passes, accumulating 261 yards and one touchdown. Lamb led the Cowboys' receivers with six catches totaling 81 yards and a touchdown. On the Giants' side, Barkley rushed for 54 yards and scored a touchdown, while Darius Slayton caught six passes for 89 yards.
This victory improved the Cowboys' record to 2-1, while the Giants dropped to 1-2.
