Prominent figures like Tom Coughlin, Mike Shanahan, and George Seifert, each with two Super Bowl victories under their belt, are competing for induction into the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class.

Mike Holmgren, another Super Bowl victor, has also advanced, with the Hall of Fame's elite committee narrowing the field to twelve candidates.

This list will soon be further reduced to nine semifinalists, from which one will be selected for final presentation to the complete selection committee for assessment in early 2023.

The chosen coaching candidate will accompany a contributor and three senior candidates, with a total of one to three of these five finalists potentially entering the Hall if they gain at least 80% of the votes from the full committee.

Coughlin, Shanahan, and Seifert stand among fourteen coaches who have clinched multiple Super Bowl titles. Of these, nine have already been enshrined in the Hall of Fame, while Bill Belichick and Andy Reid are not yet eligible.

Seifert led the 49ers to two Super Bowl wins as defensive coordinator under Bill Walsh and achieved two more triumphs as head coach following his promotion in 1989. His unparalleled 98-30 record with the 49ers remains unmatched by any coach who has overseen at least 100 games on a single team.

Shanahan, previously an offensive coordinator under Seifert, claimed consecutive Super Bowl titles as the head coach with the Broncos in 1997-98. His influence continues to resonate in the sport through his protégés, including his son Kyle, the current head coach of the 49ers.

Other contenders in this group include Jeff Fisher, Chuck Knox, Dan Reeves, and Marty Schottenheimer, each recognized with multiple Coach of the Year awards and known for consistent playoff appearances.
