Washington Commanders News & Updates

Washington Commanders' kicker Austin Seibert will not be playing in the upcoming game against Pittsburgh on Sunday because of a hip injury. Meanwhile, there is uncertainty regarding long-snapper Tyler Ott’s participation as he is dealing with an illness.

If Tyler Ott is unable to play, Nick Allegretti, who usually plays as a guard, will take over as the emergency long-snapper.

Additionally, the team will be missing running back Brian Robinson and cornerback Marshon Lattimore, who both suffered from hamstring injuries.

This season, Austin Seibert has been dependable, successfully kicking 25 out of 27 field goals and converting all 22 extra-point attempts. Zane Gonzalez has been signed as a backup option in Seibert's absence.

Zane Gonzalez last played in the NFL in 2021, where he successfully made 20 out of 22 field goal attempts.

The Commanders have seen several kickers come and go since Joey Slye's departure in free agency. Austin Seibert had brought some consistency to the position until his recent injury.

In terms of other roster changes, running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. has been promoted to the active roster, while tight end Colson Yankoff has been moved to injured reserve due to a hamstring issue.
