Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Joey Bosa plans to participate in a limited capacity during Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints, despite dealing with a hip injury, which he describes as extremely painful.
Bosa, who has been sidelined for some games because of this injury, felt considerable discomfort before the Chargers' third game of the season. His leg gave out on the first play following a collision with Steelers tackle Broderick Jones.
He was also restricted during the second game of the season due to a back problem, although he has mentioned that this issue is separate from his hip injury.
In spite of his history with injuries, Bosa has shown exceptional skill. During the first game of the season, he registered 7 tackles, caused a fumble, achieved a sack, and put the quarterback under pressure 4 times.
Nonetheless, injuries have hindered his ability to consistently demonstrate his talents. Since the opening game, he has been on the field for only 16 snaps and has also missed time earlier this season because of a hand fracture.
Bosa admits that being unable to play due to injuries has been emotionally challenging; however, he has leaned on family support and therapy to stay focused during his recovery process.
He aspires to resume a full workload after the upcoming game and is optimistic about having several productive seasons ahead.
