In his first game for the Green Bay Packers, Brandon McManus kicked a decisive 45-yard field goal as the clock ran out, securing a 24-22 win over the Houston Texans.
The Packers overcame three turnovers to achieve their third consecutive victory, ending the Texans' three-game winning streak.
Recently acquired, McManus demonstrated his dependability, having successfully made over 90% of his career field-goal attempts from distances under 50 yards.
Though Houston was without several key players due to injuries or suspensions, they almost caused an upset, staying competitive through multiple lead changes.
The Texans took advantage of Packers turnovers to build a halftime lead, but the Packers responded in the third quarter with a touchdown catch by Josh Jacobs.
With just over a minute left in the game, the Packers advanced downfield, setting up McManus for the game-winning field goal, which he executed flawlessly.
Regarding injuries, Packers linebacker Quay Walker exited the game with a possible concussion, while the Texans were missing multiple defensive starters and important receivers.
Looking ahead, the Texans will host the Indianapolis Colts next week, and the Packers will travel to Jacksonville for a match against the Jaguars.
