Philadelphia Eagles News & Updates

Saquon Barkley has adopted a positive mindset as he starts a new journey with the Philadelphia Eagles. In his first game for the team, he demonstrated his remarkable talent by scoring three touchdowns in the NFL's inaugural match in South America, leading the Eagles to a 34-29 win over the Green Bay Packers.

Barkley ran for 109 yards and notched touchdowns from an 18-yard reception and runs of 11 and 2 yards. The Packers faced a setback when quarterback Jordan Love got injured in the final moments of the game. Backup Malik Willis was sacked on the last play, thwarting a possible Hail Mary attempt.

Jalen Hurts added to the Eagles' performance with 278 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, while A.J. Brown excelled with 119 receiving yards, including a 67-yard touchdown.

For the Packers, Jayden Reed scored a touchdown on a 33-yard jet sweep and a 70-yard catch, making him the first player since Jim Brown in 1963 to accomplish both feats in a season opener. Green Bay's Love threw for 260 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.

The Eagles secured the lead at 31-26 with a third-quarter touchdown, and a late 21-yard field goal by Jake Elliott confirmed the victory. The crowd at NeoQuimica Arena created a lively atmosphere, despite some Eagles players being concerned about the trip to Brazil.

A slippery field caused a messy start in the first half, but the game became more offensive in the second and third quarters, with six out of seven possessions ending in touchdowns.

The Packers are set to host Indianapolis next week, while the Eagles will face Atlanta on Monday.
