Footage reveals Stevenson turning his back to the line of scrimmage and lifting his arms in celebration as the ball was snapped. This action caused him to arrive late to the play, allowing Washington wide receiver Noah Brown to secure the decisive touchdown.

In a social media post, Stevenson admitted to his oversight and apologized, mentioning his lack of awareness and premature focus.

This defeat ended the Bears' streak of three consecutive victories.

Coach Matt Eberflus highlighted the importance of properly executing the final play and stressed the need to analyze the team's performance.
