Washington Commanders News & Updates

Jayden Daniels, the quarterback for the Washington Commanders, practiced on Friday after missing the two previous sessions due to a rib injury he sustained in Week 7.

If Daniels is unable to play against the Chicago Bears, Marcus Mariota will step in as the starter, with Daniels' playing status potentially being revealed on Sunday afternoon.

Coach Dan Quinn mentioned that Daniels had a productive practice on Friday, focusing on testing his skills in scrambling, throwing, and sudden movements.

Daniels showed trust in the team's decision-making regarding his participation, assuring that they wouldn't put him in a risky situation.

The injury occurred on Daniels' first play from scrimmage, a 46-yard run, during which Mariota took over and successfully completed 18 out of 23 passes, scoring two touchdowns.

Terry McLaurin commended Mariota for his leadership skills and understanding of the offense, expressing confidence in his abilities if he starts on Sunday.
