Green Bay Packers News & Updates

Malik Willis, who joined the Green Bay Packers from Tennessee, demonstrated his readiness in his debut start for the team, leading them to a 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

With the support of his teammates, Willis threw his first career touchdown pass and completed 12 out of 14 passes for 122 yards. Josh Jacobs' impressive 151 rushing yards were a key part of Green Bay's strong 261-yard rushing performance.

The Packers' defense was also formidable, forcing Anthony Richardson to throw three interceptions. Although Jonathan Taylor ran for 103 yards for Indianapolis, Richardson's difficulties limited their offensive effectiveness.

Green Bay took advantage of the Colts' weak defense, racking up 164 rushing yards in the first quarter alone, the highest first-quarter total for any NFL team since 2011. They ended the game with 53 rushing attempts, underscoring their dominance on the ground.

The Colts had a hard time containing the Packers' running game, which was evident as they allowed 213 rushing yards in their previous week's loss to the Houston Texans. Coach Shane Steichen highlighted the need for improvements in their defensive strategy.

Green Bay missed an opportunity to extend their lead early in the second quarter due to a fumble, but they maintained their advantage as the Colts' offense struggled to seize their own chances.

Ultimately, Evan Williams intercepted a Hail Mary attempt from Richardson, securing the victory for Green Bay. Next Sunday, the Colts will host the Chicago Bears, while the Packers are set to face the Tennessee Titans on the road.
