The 1997 season for the New York Jets was a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows. They kicked off the year with a strong start, winning their first five games, but then hit a rough patch, losing six out of the next seven. Nevertheless, the team bounced back, finishing the season with four consecutive victories to end up with a 9-7 record. Although they narrowly missed the playoffs, it marked significant progress for a franchise that had faced years of struggles. Quarterback Vinny Testaverde put up impressive numbers, amassing 3,012 passing yards along with 16 touchdowns. Running back Curtis Martin also shone brightly, rushing for 1,139 yards and nine touchdowns. The defense was anchored by linebacker Mo Lewis, who recorded an impressive 11 sacks.
