In 1997, the Miami Dolphins bounced back from a disappointing 6-10 record the previous year to achieve a 9-7 finish under the leadership of new head coach Jimmy Johnson. With quarterback Dan Marino at the helm, the Dolphins' offense shined, putting up more than 28 points per game. Despite this, the defense faltered, conceding over 25 points per game. The season concluded with a frustrating Wild Card playoff loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
