During the 2012 NFL season, the Miami Dolphins ended with a 7-9 record. Despite the efforts of then-rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill and a new head coach, Joe Philbin, the team struggled with inconsistency on both sides of the ball. The defensive unit showed flashes of brilliance, but the offense often lacked the necessary firepower to win close games.
