Denver Broncos 2001 Season Schedule & Scores

Denver Broncos 2001 Season Schedule & Scores
Overall record:8-8
Home record:6-2
Away record:2-6

The Denver Broncos began the 2001 season with great promise, but a lackluster second half ultimately culminated in an 8-8 record. Despite the offense putting up more than 400 points, the defense faltered significantly, finishing 28th in the NFL for total yards allowed. Injuries to pivotal players, including wide receiver Ed McCaffrey and running back Terrell Davis, further hampered the team's performance. Mike Shanahan, the mastermind behind the Broncos' two Super Bowl victories, continued to serve as head coach, but the 2001 season represented a setback for the franchise.
