In 2011, the Detroit Lions experienced a notable revival, posting a 10-6 record and ending a run of three straight losing seasons. Under the guidance of head coach Jim Schwartz and powered by quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Calvin Johnson, the team showed remarkable progress. Johnson, in particular, had an extraordinary year, setting an NFL record with 1,681 receiving yards. Despite making the playoffs as a Wild Card team, the Lions were eliminated in the first round by the New Orleans Saints, who went on to win the Super Bowl.
